Our Commitment
ORVIA Healthcare is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all people, including children, young people and adults at risk. Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do.
We believe that every person has the right to live free from abuse, neglect, exploitation and harm. We believe that safeguarding is not just a policy — it is a practice, a culture, and a daily responsibility.
What We Do
ORVIA provides independent safeguarding reviews, governance support and operational oversight to help organisations and families understand what is really happening in care settings.
Our work includes:
Independent safeguarding and operational reviews
Reflective governance reviews
Closed culture assessments
Board-level safeguarding support
Family and individual support
Operational health checks
Training grounded in real-world practice
What We Are Not
• We are not an emergency service. If someone is at immediate risk of harm, call 999.
• We are not the police, CQC, a local authority safeguarding team, the NHS or a legal representative.
• We are not a replacement for statutory safeguarding processes.
• We are not a consultancy.
• ORVIA can support, review and advise — but the statutory duty to act on safeguarding concerns sits with the appropriate authorities.
How We Handle Safeguarding Concerns
If you contact ORVIA with a concern about someone’s safety or care:
We will listen carefully and treat your concern seriously.
We will not ask you to provide detailed safeguarding records, medical information or evidence through our website. If we need more information, we will explain how to share it safely.
If we believe someone is at immediate risk of harm, we will advise you to contact emergency services (999) or the relevant local authority safeguarding team. We may also report the concern directly if there is a duty to do so.
We will handle any information you share with care, confidentiality and in line with our Privacy Policy.
If Someone Is at Immediate Risk
If someone is at immediate risk of harm, do not wait.
Call 999 for emergency services.
Contact the relevant local authority safeguarding team for safeguarding concerns.
ORVIA is not an emergency service and cannot provide an immediate crisis response.
Our Principles
Our safeguarding approach is guided by ORVIA’s constitutional principles:
Human Reality Principle™ — we look at what is actually happening, not just what the paperwork says
Accountability Without Fear™ — we support honest reporting without personal risk
Seeing What Others Miss™ — we look for the patterns, gaps and hidden risks that others may not see
Reflection Before Reaction™ — we take time to understand before we act
Our Team
All ORVIA team members working in safeguarding-related roles:
Have relevant professional experience in health and social care
Understand UK safeguarding legislation and guidance
Are expected to raise any safeguarding concern immediately through agreed channels
Operate under the oversight of the Founder as the final accountability layer
ORVIA team members working directly with vulnerable individuals or accessing sensitive information hold appropriate DBS checks. All team members complete safeguarding awareness training. The Founder maintains direct oversight of team competence and conduct as part of ORVIA’s governance framework.
Data and Confidentiality
We handle all safeguarding-related information with the highest level of care. Information is stored securely using Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, with access limited to authorised team members only.
We will never share information unnecessarily. However, if there is a safeguarding duty to report a concern, we will do so in line with UK law and professional guidance.
