Preparedness That Protects
A structured, human-centred programme that helps schools move from policy on paper to preparedness in practice. Four tiers designed to meet every school where they are.
“The question is never whether your school has a policy. The question is whether your people know what to do when the policy runs out.”
— ORVIA Founder
The Gap Between How Adults Think and How Children See
Adults apply procedure. Children apply trust. The space between those two ways of seeing is exactly where vulnerability lives — and where ORVIA’s programme begins.
Every tier of this programme teaches your team to see what a child cannot — and to act before harm has a chance to begin.
Choose the Right Level for Your School
From ongoing online awareness to full immersive simulation — every tier builds on the last
per school / year
£595 → Launch price: £395 first year | Small schools (under 150 pupils): £395/yr standard
- Interactive scenario assessments — real-world situations your staff work through on screen, with immediate feedback explaining why each answer matters
- Child vs Adult perspective exercises — the same scenario seen through a child’s eyes, then an adult’s. Staff learn to spot the gap
- Active threat awareness modules — what to look for, how to respond, how to communicate during an incident. Based on real case studies (Manchester Arena, Dunblane, international examples)
- Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) resource pack — lockdown decision frameworks, communication templates, debrief checklists
- Termly threat landscape updates — new patterns, new risks, lessons from recent incidents. Your awareness stays current, not frozen in last year’s training day
- Staff completion tracking — know who’s completed what, when, and where the gaps are
- Parent awareness resources — calm, practical information you can share with families. Reassurance, not alarm
- Schools wanting year-round awareness beyond the annual training day
- New DSLs building confidence in emergency decision-making
- Schools preparing for Ofsted safeguarding deep dives
- MATs rolling out consistent safety culture across all sites
+ travel
Includes 12 months Tier 1 online access (normally £595)
- Threat awareness briefing — the current landscape, what schools face, why policies alone don’t work. Not designed to frighten — designed to prepare
- Live scenario walkthroughs — staff work through real situations in groups. Aggressive parent at reception. Unknown person at the gate. Suspicious package in the corridor. What do you do? What do you say? Who do you call?
- Child vs adult perspective workshop — staff experience a scenario as a child would see it, then as an adult. The difference in thinking is where training begins
- Code word system design — ORVIA helps your school create a set of everyday phrases that mean specific things: lockdown, evacuate, all-clear, intruder at reception. Staff know. Visitors don’t. Children stay calm
- Lockdown communication drill — practise the full sequence: alert → communicate → secure → account → hold → all-clear
- Age-appropriate pupil sessions — “What would you do if…?” exercises designed for children. Not scary. Not dramatic. Practical, calm, and memorable
- Parent awareness session — a 45-minute evening or after-school briefing for parents. What the school is doing, why, and how families can support it at home. Reassurance-led, not fear-led
- Covert recording awareness training — how to recognise when someone may be recording on school premises (phone angles, wearable devices, behavioural indicators). Includes a model recording policy and visitor device protocol
- Written post-visit report — key observations, recommendations, and a prioritised action plan your governors can review
- 12 months Tier 1 online access — keeps the learning alive after the visit
+ travel
£3,750 → Launch price: £3,250 + travel | Includes Tier 1 access + follow-up review = £4,345 standard
- 360° camera survey — every corridor, entrance, exit, blind spot and perimeter point documented with photographic evidence. You see your school through a different lens
- Access point testing — can someone walk in unchallenged? Which doors are propped open? Which gates don’t lock? Which reception desk has a clear line of sight and which doesn’t?
- Route mapping — evacuation routes, lockdown holding points, safe rooms, dead ends. Mapped and graded for effectiveness
- Perimeter assessment — fencing, lighting, visibility, neighbouring access points, approach routes
- Visitor management audit — sign-in process, ID verification, escorting protocol, contractor management, delivery procedures
- Communication systems check — do your radios work? Does the tannoy reach every room? Can the office reach every corridor? What happens when the WiFi goes down?
- Emergency procedure stress test — we test your lockdown, invacuation, and evacuation procedures against realistic scenarios to find the gaps
- Staff awareness baseline — confidential conversations with staff to understand what they’d actually do vs what the policy says they should do
- Comprehensive written report — findings, risk ratings (red/amber/green), prioritised recommendations with estimated costs. Board-ready
- Photographic evidence pack — annotated images showing specific issues and recommendations
- 90-day follow-up review — ORVIA returns to check progress against recommendations
- 12 months Tier 1 online access
– £9,500 + travel
Price depends on school size and scenario complexity. Includes all lower tiers.
- Pre-simulation planning — ORVIA designs bespoke scenarios based on your school’s specific layout, vulnerabilities, and concerns. Every scenario is scripted with clear boundaries. Nothing improvised
- Professional actors (DBS-checked) — hired actors play specific roles: an aggressive parent at reception, someone testing door handles, a confused visitor refusing to sign in, a person claiming to collect a child without authorisation
- Staff know a simulation is coming — they know it’s happening that day, but not the exact timing or scenario. This creates realistic decision-making pressure without genuine shock
- Scenario runs live for 20–30 minutes — every member of staff has a role and a decision to make. Receptionists, teachers, TAs, site managers, SLT — everyone is involved
- Children are NOT involved in the simulation — children remain in normal classes. They only experience the lockdown drill element (which your school would conduct anyway)
- Who freezes, who leads, who communicates — a simulation exposes real human responses that no PowerPoint ever will
- Where the code word system breaks down — does everyone remember? Does it transmit clearly? Does it reach every room?
- Where physical gaps become operational failures — the door that doesn’t lock, the corridor with no escape, the classroom with no internal communication
- The child perspective gap in real time — actors play scenarios where a child’s trust-based response is the thing that tests your staff’s readiness
- Immediate structured debrief — what worked, what didn’t, what would you do differently. This is where the deepest learning happens
- Individual welfare check — some staff find it intense. ORVIA follows up individually with anyone who needs support
- Written simulation report — full analysis, gaps exposed, strengths identified, recommendations prioritised
- Includes Tier 3 assessment + Tier 1 annual access — the simulation sits on top of the full physical review
Every School Gets a Code Word System
Included from Tier 2 upwards. ORVIA designs a set of everyday phrases unique to your school — each one triggers a specific action. Staff know. Visitors don’t. Children stay calm.

🚀 Founder Launch Rate — Limited Places
Available for the first 11–20 schools or until the launch window closes, whichever comes first. This is the lowest these prices will ever be.
No School Left Unprotected
ORVIA reserves a limited number of funded access places for schools facing genuine financial hardship. One funded Tier 1 place for every 10 paid schools. Corporate sponsorship and the ORVIA Founder Safety Fund support additional places. Because preparedness should never depend on budget.
When it happens, there is no second chance to prepare.
Experience a taste of the programme. 5 minutes. 3 scenarios. See how prepared you really are.
