Unlike a CQC inspection or internal compliance check, a safeguarding audit conducted by ORVIA focuses on operational reality — what staff actually do, what residents actually experience, and whether the systems designed to protect people are working as intended.

This depends on the size and complexity of the service. A single-site audit typically takes 2–5 days of on-site review, with reporting delivered within an agreed timeframe. Multi-site audits are scoped individually.
No. CQC inspections are regulatory assessments carried out under statutory powers. A safeguarding audit by ORVIA is an independent, reflective review — it looks deeper at culture, practice and operational reality, but does not carry regulatory authority.
