Being transparent about what ORVIA is — and what we are not — is central to our integrity.
What ORVIA Is
ORVIA Healthcare is an independent safeguarding and operational oversight organisation. We provide reflective, evidence-led reviews of safeguarding practice, operational culture and governance in health and social care settings.
What ORVIA Is Not
- Not a regulator. We do not have statutory regulatory powers. We are not CQC, Ofsted, or any statutory inspection body.
- Not a replacement for statutory safeguarding services. We do not replace the role of local authority safeguarding teams, the police, or NHS safeguarding leads.
- Not an enforcement body. We cannot impose sanctions, penalties or enforcement actions.
- Not a legal advisor. Our reviews and reports do not constitute legal advice. If legal advice is required, please consult a qualified solicitor.
- Not a consultancy. We examine and report. We do not sell ongoing advisory services or create dependency.
Emergency Situations
If someone is in immediate danger, please contact:
- Emergency services: 999
- Your local authority safeguarding team — for adult safeguarding concerns
- The police — if a crime is suspected
ORVIA is not an emergency service. If you contact us with an immediate safety concern, we will direct you to the appropriate emergency route.
Our Reports
ORVIA reports provide independent observations, evidence-led findings and professional recommendations. They are not:
- Legal determinations
- Regulatory findings
- Forensic investigations
- Medical or clinical assessments
Our reports should be considered alongside other relevant information and professional advice when making decisions.
